Jana grew up in East Wenatchee. During her senior year at WSU, she learned about the severity of the climate crisis and became passionate about environmental sustainability. After earning her Master’s in Environmental Studies from The Evergreen State College, she was hired as Metro Parks Tacoma’s first Sustainability Coordinator. There she helped the organization reduce its carbon footprint, reduce energy and water consumption, and improve recycling and composting programs. Jana moved back to the Wenatchee Valley in 2016, co-founded Sustainable Wenatchee in 2017, and is thrilled to be a part of the movement towards sustainability in her hometown. She volunteers with Women's Service League of NCW (previously Junior Service League), is a volunteer administrator for the Buy Nothing Project, and is a member of Grace City Church. She loves camping with her family in their pop-up tent trailer and enjoying live music. She was selected as one of the Wenatchee Valley Business World's "30 Under 35" in 2018.
